Blackberry Margarita

This blackberry margarita is made with homemade blackberry syrup, tequila, and a kick of lime. It’s the perfect mix of tart, sweet, and refreshing.

Ingredients
 
 

  • oz tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice fresh
  • 1 oz blackberry syrup
  • 1 oz orange liqueur like Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • Ice

Garnish

  • Lime wheel or wedge
  • Fresh blackberries
  • Salt or sugar for the rim
  • Freeze-dried blackberry powder for the rim

Instructions
 

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a short glass. Dip the rim in salt or sugar and freeze-dried blackberry powder.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, blackberry syrup, and orange liqueur. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well chilled,
  • Strain the cocktail into your prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Top with a lime wheel and a couple of fresh blackberries.

Notes

  • Blackberry syrup can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 2 weeks. Find the full recipe here
  • For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with 1 cup of ice.
  • Mezcal can be substituted for tequila for a smoky variation.
