Why You’ll Love This Blackberry Margarita

  • Fresh flavor: Blackberry syrup adds a fruity sweetness.
  • Vibrant in color: The deep red is a real showstopper, especially with a salted or sugared rim.
  • Simple to make: Blackberry syrup can be prepared ahead of time (and it’s great in loads of other cocktails too! Like a blackberry gin sour, or blackberry whisky sour.)

Ingredients

  • Tequila: A high-quality blanco or reposado tequila works best.
  • Blackberries: Turned into blackberry syrup. It brings sweetness and color.
  • Fresh lime juice: Adds the tartness needed to balance the sweet and fruity flavors.
  • Orange liqueur: Triple sec or Cointreau enhances the citrus profile of the drink.
  • Ice: For shaking and serving.
  • Garnish: Fresh blackberries, a lime wheel, or a sprig of mint.
  • Optional: a salt/or sugar and blackberry powder rim.
