Frozen Peach Margarita

This frozen peach margarita is sweet and refreshing. It’s a beautiful blended cocktail with juicy peach flavor and a hint of vanilla. I add a chili lime rim for a little kick that makes each sip interesting.

About this strawberry margarita

The frozen peach margarita is a fruity blended cocktail made with tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, peaches, vanilla simple syrup, and ice. It’s easy to make if you have a blender, and comes together in just a few minutes. The technique is just to blend everything until smooth, then pour, and enjoy.

Fresh peaches are perfect when they’re in season, but frozen or even canned peaches work just as well. Frozen peaches are actually great for this because they help make the drink thick and icy without watering it down. The vanilla simple syrup adds a subtle warmth that rounds out the peach flavor nicely. You can also use honey if you don’t have vanilla syrup on hand.

I love serving this with a chili lime salt rim. It adds a tangy, slightly spicy bite that balances the sweetness of the peaches. Tajín works perfectly if you want to keep things easy, or you can make your own.

Ingredients

Here’s what you need. Find the amounts in the printable recipe at the bottom of this post.

  • Tequila: Choose a quality blanco tequila for a crisp, clean base.
  • Triple Sec: Adds an orangy sweetness that complements the peaches.
  • Fresh lime juice: Brings bright acidity to balance the sweetness.
  • Vanilla simple syrup or honey: Adds depth and a hint of warmth.
  • Peaches: Fresh, frozen or canned peaches work.
  • Chili Lime salt for the rim and ice for blending.

Homemade chili lime salt

I love the addition of a chili lime salt rim because it adds the perfect kick to each sip. Here’s how to make your own:

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons fine sea salt (or flaky salt crushed a bit)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  1. Mix the salt, chili powder, and lime zest in a small bowl.
  2. Spread the mixture on a small plate. Use a lime wedge to moisten the rim of your glass, then dip it into the chili lime salt.

Method

  1. Prepare the rim: mix chili lime salt (or Tajín) on a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the edge of your glass and dip it into the salt mixture to coat.
  2. Add everything to the blender with ice and blend until smooth.
  3. Pour into the prepared glass and garnish with a lime wheel.

Tips

  • Use frozen peaches for the best texture. They’re already cold, so they help the drink stay thick and icy without getting watered down.
  • Adjust the sweetness. Peaches area all different in sweetness, so taste the drink once blended before pouring. Add more syrup if needed, or a splash more lime if it’s too sweet.
  • Don’t skip the lime juice. Fresh lime is what keeps this from tasting like a peach smoothie. It balances everything and makes it taste like a proper margarita.

Variations

  • Spicy peach margarita: Add a few slices of fresh jalapeño to the blender before blending.
  • Peachy pineapple: Swap half the peaches for frozen pineapple chunks.
  • Non-alcoholic version: Skip the tequila and triple sec. Blend the peaches, syrup, and lime juice with orange juice and ice, then top with a splash of soda water.
