Aperol is one of my favorite spirits to work with. It’s bittersweet, bright orange, and works with so many different flavor combinations – citrus, ginger, berries, gin, prosecco. It’s also low in alcohol at 11% which makes it a great base for lighter drinks. Here’s everything I’ve made with it.
What is Aperol?
Aperol is an Italian aperitivo liqueur made from bitter orange, gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona. It’s bright orange, bittersweet, and only 11% alcohol. It’s probably best known as the base of an Aperol spritz but it works in a huge range of cocktails, from light soda drinks to stirred spirits-forward drinks like the Negroni.
