Mint Chocolate Martini

This Mint Chocolate Martini cocktail is minty chocolate delight! If you use a green crème de menthe, it gives the drink a fresh green color, which makes it a good choice for St. Patrick’s Day!

The Mint Chocolate Martini cocktail has a vodka base, paired with crème de menthe and crème de cacao.

Ingredients

Here’s what you need. Find the full recipe in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

  • Vodka – 1 oz/ 30ml. Unflavored vodka. The quality of vodka isn’t too important as it’s being infused, but try to choose at least a middle-shelf variety.
  • Crème de menthe – 1 oz/ 30ml. This provides the distinct color and peppermint taste. You could also use a white Crème de menthe.
  • Crème de cacao – 1 oz/ 30ml. This provides the chocolate flavor.
  • Milk, half and half—1 1/2 oz / 45 ml. To give the drink extra richness, use half and half (half milk, half cream).
  • Chocolate Sauce – 1 Tbsp. An optional addition is to give the glass a chocolate rim.
  • Mint leaf. An optional garnish
  • Ice: To chill the cocktail in cocktail shaker.

Method

  1. Add chocolate sauce on a small plate. Then, take your martini glass upside down and twist over the sauce to create a rim of chocolate on the glass.

  1. Combine ice with vodka, milk/cream, crème de menthe and crème de cacao in a cocktail shaker with ice.

  1. Shake well until cold. Strain the cocktail into a martini glass. Add a mint leaf for garnish.

Instructions

  1. Add chocolate sauce on a small plate.
  2. Take your martini glass upside down and twist over the sauce to create a rim of chocolate on the glass.
  3. Combine ice with vodka, milk/cream, crème de menthe and crème de cacao in a cocktail shaker.
  4. Shake well until cold. Strain the cocktail into a martini glass. Add a mint leaf for garnish.
